Protective Intelligence Network -  IOM Training Course Programme for Malaysia

In July 2017 Protective Intelligence Network instructors, in the frame of a programme developed by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) with the support of the Government of Canada, offered a number of training courses on the topic of “Identifying Smuggling Networks: Information Gathering During and Post- Interception” and “Use of Information Technology in Smuggling and Trafficking Investigation”, for the benefit of the Royal Malaysia Police, Malaysia Immigration Department, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, Royal Malaysia Customs Department and Department of Labour. Trainings were organised in Kuala Lumpur and Kuching.

The principal aim of the IOM project to which Protective Intelligence Network contributed, supports the continued efforts of the Malaysian Authorities to reinforce its border control and protection, and to combat migrant smuggling and human trafficking
